Ever wonder why some people make money blogging while others don’t? The main reason is usually the content and how well it is written. But let’s assume the content is top notch. What could cause a blog not to make money? The ads! I know what you’re thinking. What difference do ads have on the site. I will either make money or not, regardless of what is up on the page.

Ever look at a blog and see an add for clothing? I sure have. It would be fine if the site talked about clothing, but it doesn’t. Will that ad make the blogger money? Hell no! Some ads work better than others and for good reason. Let’s take a look at one example.

Just for the hell of it let’s say I have a blog that talks about audio recording. Now, I could go with Google ads and do just fine. Or I could try a mix between Google ads and auction ads. I already know audio equipment costs a small fortune. I also know Auctionads will pay me a percent of ebays fees if the auction is one by the person who clicked on the add, which is much higher than any payout Google will give you. In addition to getting paid for winning bidders, but anyone creating an account will earn you some dough. These are so easy to set up and you can customize the look and feel and even what items you want each ad to show. Take a look at a sample ad below.

You can customize each ad to reflect a post, a review or even create a mini store with these ads as there is no limit to how many can be placed on a page. Now this isn’t for every blog, but the pictures are a big help in selling the product. I’ll cover more about how to monetize your blog in upcoming posts. This is just one way to make the most of your blog and to make your blog money!
