Well, I am sure you can fill the rest in yourself. lol If you read a lot of blogs on topics such as this one about “making money”, you’ll find a lot of opinions on what you should do. This blog of course is no different. I’ll write about programs to join, ideas and what works for me from my experiences. However, what works for me may not work for you. For example…

Some bloggers suggest writing a post every day, or every other day… 300 – 600 words long. I don’t think that’s very realistic. If you have a job or any type of life, you don’t have the time. While you could farm out the work, it may not be good quality or something you can afford. If you are blogging to make money you don’t have money to pay people to write. So, write when you can. Just try to keep it on a steady basis. If it’s Mon , Wed and Fri.. great!

If you can’t stick to that, try at least 3 posts a week. Just get an idea in your head of what is realistic for you. Take one day and draft several posts or post ideas. This way when it’s time for you to write a post, you already have some material to work from. The point is do what you can when you can. If you feel pressured to do a post a day, you may write bad posts and lose readers. The goal here is to gain readers, without them your blog will fail. You should be more concerned about how many subscribers you have more than you are about how much money your blog is making. Especially with a new blog.

Everyone will tell you to add adsense to your site… above to post, inside the post.. etc. I know for a fact that blogs that are littered with ads have less subscribers. Yes, they make more money (than sites that have less ads on their blogs), but they tend to have lower subscribers and higher bounce rates. If you need to use ads be smart about where you put them. You don’t want Google thinking the site is a MFAS (made for adsense) and you don’t want the readers to think your blog has no real value.

Take what you read from “experts” and apply their knowledge to your blog on a small scale. You can’t do everything you read, if you did… your blog would be an utter mess. You will even see this blog change from time to time as far as layout and ad types. I need to see what works and so do you. I will share what I learn, but that may or may not help you. No two blogs are a like. They may look the same and maybe even discuss the same topic, but they are totally different. Knowing what works for you is the only way to make money.

What works for your blog? I’d love to hear about.
