Not every blog is successful. Some blogs go for years and make little money, while others die out before they make a penny. There are a few simple things to keep in mind that will help increase the chances of your blog being successful. They are…

• Don’t write solely for the purpose of making money. Your blog will fail. Quality content is the only way your blog will be successful.

• If you are going to blog, write about something you love. If you are blogging just to try and make money, you will lose interest fast.

• Find your stride. Blogging too much may cause your posts to be weak and uninteresting. Blogging too little can cause readers to lose interest. Find a happy medium, your readers will thank you for it.

• Involve your readers. Ask their opinion. Get them to participate in posts or create polls. This will help create a buzz.

• Network! Comment on related blogs. Talk to related bloggers and exchange links or posts.

• Don’t be cheap with your links. Link to other bloggers. If you find a post or blog interesting link to it. People will be more likely to link yo you if they see you link out.

• Learn basic SEO. Download an SEO pack for wordpress if you need it. It will help optimize your posts. Learn how to structure your urls, titles and description tags. It will make a world of difference.

• Have some personality when writing. If your writing is boring you will …zzzZZZzzzzzz. You get my point.

• You need subscribers in order to make money. Make your feed button visible and above the fold. Wordpress users should use this great plugin that will ask readers to subscribe to your feed at the beginning of every post .

• Thank your readers. Whether you allow links in comments (without no-follow) or give them a link back for linking to you. Be appreciative.
